Age Restricted High Rise Condos in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a retirement Mecca. The Valley is already home to four large Las Vegas Sun City communities as well as numerous smaller age restricted developments. Retirees are looking for three things: no state income tax, warm weather and a reasonable cost of living. In recent years with all the hurricane damage Florida's insurance rates have gone through the roof and a monthly insurance payment is similar to many mortgage payments. In Texas annual property taxes are almost three times that of Las Vegas, though the average housing is a bit less expensive.

One of the reason the Las Vegas Sun City developments have been so popular is the amenity rich environment: pools, computer rooms, workout centers, wellness centers, golf and social clubs. Recently, however, the demographics seem to be changing, and now across the country many Sun City dwellers seem ready to give up that single family retirement home in favor of a lower maintenance lock-and-go condo with nearby/on site medical facilities. And yet they are not ready to forego many of the amenities that they have become used to enjoying.

So where are the Las Vegas age restricted high rise condos? The demand is definitely there for a vertical cruise ship for retirees, but Las Vegas does not yet have any true adult high rise, though there is a mid-rise project in Sun City Anthem.
