Las Vegas Schools - Clark County School
District - Las Vegas School Zones
| The Clark County School District is the 6th largest in
the United states, with over 230,000 students! Anywhere from five to ten
new schools are being completed every year In Las Vegas just to keep up
with the tremendous growth of the Las Vegas Valley. Despite this rapid
increase, test results remain consistently good, and Green Valley High
School has even been ranked in the top 10 of all high schools in the United
States! There are a variety of both public and private schools
available - many have their own web sites for more information. |
| Las Vegas schools also offer a variety of special programs
designed to help students with special challenges finish or stay in
school. The Clark County Virtual High School offers courses at home
via the DVD's, Internet, television, and via video tapes for those
who need to finish their high school credits but are unable to
attend regular classes. The Stay in School Mentoring Program
provides adult mentors from the business community an opportunity to
offer support and guidance to middle school students who are at risk
of dropping out of Las Vegas schools. Mentors encourage students to
stay in school and promote future education and career focus.
They commit a minimum of one hour per week to a student for the
length of a school year and all mentoring occurs on school grounds
during school hours. |
