BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY HOMESERVICES®

The Tonnesen Team was very excited to become a part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices® brand. During our real estate career, we have always affiliated with the most trusted names in the Las Vegas real estate industry, so the transition from Prudential to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices® Nevada Properties was a happy one.

Because who doesn't love Warren Buffet?!! Buffet, widely considered the most successful investor of the 20th century, has a wide variety of businesses under the Berkshire Hathaway corporate name, including much loved household names like Dairy Queen, Fruit of the Loom, GEICO, See's Candies and RC Willey Home Furnishings. According to Fortune 2012, Berkshire Hathaway is among the world's most admired companies.

Trust, quality and integrity have been the key components to Berkshire Hathaway's success, and they brought those elements to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices® division. Home Services of America Inc. is now the second-largest real  estate brokerage in the nation and by far the fastest growing one.

So when it was announced in March 2013 at the annual Prudential Convention that Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices® had acquired the Prudential Real Estate and Real Living brands from Brookfield Asset Management, there was jubilation across the country.  Prudential Americana Group Realtors, already one of the top real estate brokerages in the country, made the official transition in April 2014.

As Warren Buffet says: "HomeServices® and Berkshire Hathaway are building values together that are the kind you can put on the front page of a newspaper and that everyone who is associated with the company can be proud of."  The Tonnesen Team has built their reputation on the same high values over the years, and it is wonderful to be associated with a company that shares them.

As a side note: Not only did Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices come into the Las Vegas housing market, another Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, MidAmerican Energy, recently purchased  NV Energy Inc., the holding company whose principal subsidiaries are Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company. Warren Buffet is investing heavily in the future of Las Vegas - shouldn't you?
